Terms of service

1. The service and your account

Margin provides a workspace for checking buying scenarios for lawful physical products, recording owned inventory or supplier variants, drafting listings and analysing recorded costs and sales. Accounts use ChatGPT sign-in. You must be at least 18, use your own account, enter information honestly and protect your sign-in access. Your records are private to your account, with disclosed owner access for support, security and aggregate service analytics.

2. Free calculator and workspace trial

The calculator is free and unlimited, with no account or card required. Calculations use your inputs and do not create inventory records. A new workspace gets a single 7-day trial starting at its original account-creation time. The offered trial length is stored on the server, and any previously offered 14-day trial keeps its original end date. Refreshing, signing out, rejoining or accepting updated terms does not restart it. No payment details are required for the trial and it never automatically becomes a paid subscription.

After the trial, adding or editing inventory, sales, expenses, tax settings and performance baselines requires paid access. Existing records remain readable and exportable. Deletion, privacy controls, support, account preferences and the free calculator remain available. A plan selected in the interface never grants paid access.

3. One monthly subscription

Margin costs £7.99 per month for the current workspace features with no calculation or ordinary stock-recording quota. There is no annual commitment or weekly plan. A paid subscription starts only when you actively complete Stripe Checkout, including if you choose to subscribe before your free trial ends. The selected price, total and renewal interval are shown before confirmation; applicable taxes must be clear there.

The subscription renews monthly until cancelled. Use Manage billing in Account to cancel future renewals, update payment details and view invoices. Cancellation normally preserves access until the recorded paid period ends, then returns the workspace to read-only with exports. Failed or unverified payments do not grant paid access. A payment-success page alone is not proof of paid entitlement.

4. Sale fees and integrations

There is no Margin sale fee on externally recorded sales. Recording a sale or running a calculation does not trigger a transaction fee. Buyer checkout, marketplace posting, supplier ordering and marketplace-account connections are not provided by the current service.

5. Evidence, calculations and decisions

Seller estimates and comparable counts are inputs, not independent verification. Expected prices and evidence links are entered by you. They do not prove availability or guaranteed proceeds. Check authenticity, supplier terms, availability, restrictions and all selling costs yourself.

Profit, ROI and tax-reserve figures are planning tools, not financial, tax or investment advice and do not promise sales or earnings. Keep your own records and exports.

6. Acceptable use and security

Follow our acceptable-use policy. Do not access another account, evade authentication, payment or allowance controls, exploit endpoints, upload malicious content, distribute unlawful goods or reuse licensed evidence outside permitted rights. Normal accessibility tools, permitted exports and responsible security reports remain allowed.

7. Restrictions and disputes

For a credible security threat, fraud or serious breach we may proportionately restrict affected access while investigating. A critical review or support complaint is not a reason to remove access. No automatic fine or arbitrary charge to a saved card is authorised for a terms breach. Documented losses may be pursued only through lawful processes.

8. Support, cancellation and refunds

Contact us for bugs, complaints, security, privacy or billing concerns. Do not send passwords, tokens or card numbers. Paid subscriptions can be cancelled through the Stripe billing portal and normally remain available through the paid period. See cancellation and refunds. Nothing excludes a responsibility or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Changes and law

Material changes will be described before they take effect with appropriate notice. England and Wales law applies subject to mandatory protections where you live; eligible consumers retain access to their local courts.
